Why Do Dogs Go Crazy After a Bath?
Share
Your dog is clean, damp, and suddenly sprinting laps around the house and rubbing on the couch. Welcome to post-bath zoomies.
Why it happens
- Releasing energy. Short bursts of wild running, sometimes called FRAPs, are a normal way dogs let off steam.
- Relief. Many dogs find baths stressful and celebrate when it's over.
- Drying off and smell. Rubbing on furniture and carpet helps dry fur and may help get rid of the shampoo smell.
What you can do
Towel your dog well, keep the zoomie zone free of slippery floors and breakables, and let them run it out. It usually lasts only a minute or two.
